My journey with the Brooks Cambium C15 began with extensive online research. I wasn't specifically seeking an aggressive riding style saddle; my goal was a comfortable touring saddle.

I'd heard about Brooks leather saddles' legendary comfort and their long-standing reputation in the cycling community, but their use of animal products wasn't ideal for me.

The Cambium C15, with its vulcanized rubber and canvas construction, offered a compelling alternative – a high-quality, durable saddle that aligned with my ethical preferences.

Saddle Features and Design

Unlike traditional Brooks leather saddles, the Cambium C15 is made from vulcanized rubber and features a canvas top. This material is far more resistant to wet conditions compared to leather and requires no special treatment.

Its narrow profile, compared to other Brooks saddles, is perfect for a more aggressive road riding posture. The aluminum or stainless steel frame adds durability and support.

The unique canvas top was an initial concern, but it turned out to provide excellent grip without being overly abrasive or causing discomfort.

Seatpost Choice and Test Bike

Riding Experience and Final Verdict

After an initial 18-mile test ride, I was incredibly impressed. The Brooks Cambium C15 felt significantly more comfortable than my previous saddle, providing a smoother pedal stroke and a more secure feel.

The canvas top offered a surprising amount of grip without being restrictive; I didn't experience any excessive friction or slippage, even when wearing padded cycling shorts.
